Thursday Oct. 2nd - ASP.NET AJAX - Improving Web App Performance by Dan Caron

The Western Mass .NET Users Group is hosting its next monthly meeting on Thursday, October 2nd at 6:00 PM at the MassMutual Learning Center in Chicopee, MA.  Free pizza, drinks and dessert will be provided compliments of MassMutual.  Please note this is a THURSDAY instead of our regular day (Tuesday) - directions are below.

Presentation Abstract:

This session will focus on "rolling your own" AJAX to improve web application performance.  We will take a look at the Update Panel control, then we will uncover its shortcomings and we will discuss (and demonstrate) how to most efficiently code your own AJAX using ASP.NET AJAX without the Update Panel.    This session will be 100% in Visual Studio - no slides, all code.  You will learn how to get ASP.NET AJAX working with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
